Mine gave up last August. She was 89 and just got tired of putting up with the lack of physical capacity. Decided she wanted to die and in 1 week it happened. Just didn't wake one morning. I understand how she felt as that is happening to me now. A person leads an active vibrant life and then slowly it is all taken away from you. Your brain wants to go but your body refuses. Course a bad accident or destructive surgery could do the same thing to a younger person. But younger people learn to cope and seem to adapt with a positive attitude. Sorry for your loss. Mark
