Short but true. Couple of years ago, some youngsters from KY took one of their parent's car out for a long high-speed joy ride well up into IL on I-57. The parents reported the car as stolen. Somewhere along the line, IL Troopers saw and pursued the car a bit, but backed off and let a Cessna take over from the air, so as not to endager more lives. As luck would have it, the driver lost control and crashed right at the entrance ramp to Rt.116 (Ashkum, IL), right where Dist 21 State Police Barracks is. The kids weren't hurt, at least not bad, and didn't have to go far at all to be locked up - "Come to Papa". The parents of the kids then at least tried to go after the Troopers for not preventing the crash by high-speed pursuing the kids and stopping them sooner. This occured right as the nightly news had a story of "High-speed pursuits are dangerous" every other night. Yep, weak gene pools do exist, and it's everyone else's fault but the gene pool.
