I've seen way more red than blue ones, but could be either. That beam is in a semi-circle? It was the saftey latch, when you hit something with the bar something will have to give. either the mower bar breaks, the tractor front end pulls around (into a ditch?), or some linkage breaks. This thing has a latch on it that (I'm sure yours is welded if they cut off the arm) will pop loose & let the bar swing back, saves anything from breaking. Your call on what to do about it, kinda not good to run without it of course. --->Paul
