You know Doofus, youre right. It had never occurred to me before, but those old tractors did run for years on distillate and white gas, long before lead was ever added to motor fuel for anti-knock properties in the 40's and 50's.
Lead had been in gasoline for several years when I first began working on engines. I never thought back any further!
