I have a local CAT rental place near me, which makes trucking cheap, $75.00 to haul a D-4G to my place, the daily rate is $375.00/day + fuel or 8 hours, min. 8 hours, although I can get a 1/2 day if I really need to. I think he does that because I make sure to take good care of what I rent, by cleaning the tracks good with a hose when I'm done, greasing it properly, checking fluids, and not abusing the equipment because its a rental etc. No $100,000 general liability insurance required as well ! I appreciated that ! I rented a D-4G, 2 months ago, for 4 days, had 2 decent size jobs to do which I finished within the time I alloted for each. It was well worth it, I got a machine with 2.4 hours on it, it was brand new, I took some photos of it before I wore the paint off the tracks, and of each job, it worked out well, I could not even compare prices of bringing a contractor in to do this work, these rental outfits really make it affordable to get some earthwork done. Another big help was having many years experience as an operator, I enjoyed running this D4-G, they're all nice when new ! If you have the skills and a decent rental outfit, its cost effective to rent and do it yourself, the only headache is setting up for refueling, I made sure to use clean containers, and a funnel with a fine screen to get by, this one was quite fuel eficient too. If I had a large job to do, I'd set up a tank arrangement from a local supplier. I'm sure contractors don't want to hear this & I understand that, been in construction for 20 years, but it sure worked out great, got a few more jobs coming up too.

It would be a great day for the collies and the terrier dogs, rats and mice would be at the bottom of the stacks so the dogs, would have a busy time hunting and killing, all the corn was gathered and ricked in what we c
