First, if you're really concerned, don't believe what that factory "gauge" says. The only sure way to check the pressure is with a known good mechanical gauge hooked into the system. Those factory "gauges" can be WAY off, and some of them don't even "gauge" the actual pressure at all - they read such and such pressure as long as there is enough pressure to activate the switch - basically just a pretty idiot light. But, as was previously stated, 10 lbs per 1000 rpm is a good rule of thumb. Specific pressures rely on many factors - oil viscosity, at what pressure the pump bypass opens, clearances, oil temp, etc. Although I don't put much stock in good oil pressure indicating good tight clearances. Most oil pumps move a lot more oil than the lube system actually needs, with the rest going to bypass. Even if the main clearances are .005" and spec is .002", if the pump can move enough oil to keep up, you'll still have good pressure. Like I said, if you're worried, get a good gauge and check it. Years ago, I noticed a slight dropoff in oil pressure in my '92 Dodge Cummins (no numbers - only marks on the "gauge"). I plumbed in my test gauge and found 100 psi at the top of the filter housing, and the "gauge" barely went past half.

Tuning-Up Your Tractor: Plugs & Compression Testing - by Curtis Von Fange. The engine seems to run rough. In the exhaust you can hear an occasion 'poofing' sound like somethings not firing on all cylinders. Under loaded conditions the tractor seems to lack power and it belches black smoke out of the exhaust. For some reason it just doesn't want to start up without cranking and cranking the starter. All these conditions can be signals that your unit is in need of a tune up. Ok, so what is involved in a tune up? You say, swap plugs and file the points....now tha
