Ron I had my J.D. 970 to stick after sitting 2 or 3 weeks one winter, what a J.D. mechanic told me to do got it unstuck and it has not stuck again since then 2 or 4 years ago. What he told me was to start it and jerk it into a fast gear and when it got going good to start tapping the brake, and start depressing clutch (to see if was working ) until it engaged.
