That vavle is a pain. I wore out two of them shutting them off. Then I quit that. Now it don't leak anymore. Seems like that shutoff valve was $35 and $50. Recently had problem with the float not closing and gas backing up in the air intake line. Took the carb to local tractor part vendor. He says he never saw a spring concentric with the needle before. We removed it and my float worked again. But it worked for years with the spring too.
