A spun bearing is a catastrophic engine failure. Enough heat is generated by lack of lube to melt the bearing to the journal. There will be a LOT of noise and dramatic load on the engine. If you've run the engine previously with the crank journal .002" out of round successfully, there should be no future problem. Low or lack of oil pressure will always cause a bearing to fail in the above manner.
