This has been pretty well hashed over but I'd vote for the rebuild if everything else is good and you like the tractor. I've built and I've cut my losses and had it go both ways on both. Wound up pouring $5000 in a 1410 Case DB (plus a couple of $500 repair jobs) after paying $5000 for it only to sell it for $6500 three years later. I should have cut my losses. Best to know how deep the hole is before jumping into it. All in all, better of with the 'devil you know' than one you dont. I'd see if I could get that done a little cheaper.
