Hi, we are cutting these oats for hay. The draper swather seems to be the easiest way to preserve the grain and have something valuable when the whole process is complete. We always windrow the oat before combining as well to assure complete dry down and get it into a windrow before a storm. Kind of a regional thing probably. Thanks Z
