We had a 1990 F150 with the V8 gas engine that was a really good truck. When it got wrecked late in 2002 it had well over 300,000 miles showing. I had the transmission rebuilt several years before that and had the intake gasket replaced but other that that all other repairs were routine stuff like a new exhaust system, etc. Every fw years there seems to be a new "leader" in the industry, but from what I saw in the year range your talking about you can't beat a Ford. Just my .02
