The power steering feeds directly off the hydraulic pump which currently has gear oil in it. My manual says that the trans is supposed to have Multi-Purpose fluid in it. However the suction line for the pump is attached behind the trans in the differential housing. This is also where the dipstick is located and has gear oil. The trans is also full of gear oil. Is this correct? Does the trans carry gear oil and the defferential trans fluid. The manual says the hydraulic system runs on Exxon Torque Fluid 56 or Equivalent. What is this? And the Manual says the trans carries Multi-purpose fluid.?
