Lots of "non rookies" down here call them "bush hogs" "brush hogs" and just "cutter" is also used alot. The move ins from up north come to the dealership and want a "big mower" or "estate mower", one guy wanted a "spinnie thing". I guess rotary cutter is correct, but to me they are also all "bush hogs". Van
