If you haven't put a new distributor cap on lately you might try that. I have a couple of engines that I have this problem with, a 1973 Chevrolet pickup with a 350 and a 1972 JD 4400 combine with a GM 292 engine. Every few years they will start condensating under the distributor cap and it seems they get a crappy coating inside and there is no way to wash it out. Purchasing a new cap is a cheap enough cure.
