I'll second USAA....I don't think you can beat their prices, and service (when we've needed it) has been good. I have no problem dealing with a company over the phone, though. If you feel you need an agent who knows your name, then go someplace else. Becoming eligible is easy...if you have ever served in any of the armed forces (including the Reserves), you're in. If you can talk someone (a parent, a sibling, or even a friend)who has served into it, they can sign up for a USAA credit card (that they never even have to use), add your name to the card, and you're in. Then cancel the credit card. Once you are a member, your kids are eligible, also. (and their kids...) They insured my house, also, when I lived in town. I would still be with them, but they won't cover class 10 properties (I'm too far from a fire department) They also do Life and Health insurance, investment planning, etc. And every year that I can remember, they've sent a refund check in the mail right before Christmas. When their claims for the year are less than they planned for, they give a percentage of your premium back.

He had told my father
