Temp gauges/ sending units are real cheap,
very easy to replace on those machines. That
is what I would do first. Strongly
recommended. Very.

Then you know if it is a real overheating
problem, or the tractor just gets to operating
temp & something else, like the capacitor or
coil or gas vent is acting up.

Too many things to guess at without the temp
gauge working.
