I am waiting for delivery of my service manual. In the meantime, can anyone tell me how oil is supplied to the rockers.I have not seen any evidence of any oil passage up thru the the rocker support and hold down towers like other engines have. Also there is no tube feeding oil to the rocker shaft from external source. There are some pecularities on this engine.I suspect that the cylinder head is not an original because the block is painted red ,head is orange and valve cover is gray.Another odd thing is an factory fitted boss installed in the top of the aft end of the valve cover. This is a heavy steel ring 3/8 " thick welded to the cover. It is threaded and is fitted with a brass tubing fitting which has a piece of steel tube swagged into it's center. This projects thru the cover only 3/8". The upper and outside end of this tube has been cut off and pinched shut. This appears to me to have been a vent or breather rather than a lube supply.I have'nt removed the head due to many obstructions and shortness of time cause I need to get this tractor into the field ASAP.Any help will be appreciated. Thanks,John Cooney
