Duane, my brother and I were just talking about that after I walked by a Deere rider for $4K in my travels at a Home Depot the other day. FWD gardens came up because his neighbor has one.?.? The only benefit that I can see in 4WD on one when blading the snow in the drive because of the added weight over the fronts. I too have hills and ditches and am still never comfortable with some of the angles that I mow with either an Allis B or JD 950. I see IDOT guys mowing every day on industrial Fords and Deeres that set low and have the HP for their bush hogs or batwings. For safety, reliability, and the money, you might consider an old 2 - 9N, T20 or 30, or something else that sits low, wide, and heavy.
