Bob, Kinda" hope I"m wrong on this one but if the positive battery cable shorted to ground on those items, chances are a great deal of current was run through the injection pump. It would not take much current to damage the cam ring inside the pump and ruin it. However it may have only damaged the linkage in the top of the pump; I am assuming its a Lucas/CAV pump. Wish I could help more but it sounds like the pump has been damaged to some degree. Tommy
