Sorry, Bob, my first message didn't all go through. If the new plug in No. 1 fouls again, I would guess you could have some "blow-by" with the piston rings. If you can, do a compression check to see if all four cylinders have pretty much the same compression. If No. 1 is less, than you have bad rings or valve problems. Since the other 3 are OK, you pretty much can eliminate any fuel or carburetor problems.
