From my point of view, FWD has little to do with working a wet field. It's about putting power to the ground, and making efficient use of power. I have a 70 PTO hp NH TS90 FWD, which I use to pull a 4 x20 plow.(Most others in the area are pulling 3 on larger two wheel drives.) It makes good use of the tractor's power. Drop that tractor out of FWD with that plow in the ground (on dry ground), and you will quickly see what the front wheels pull. Rears start to slip about 25%. As some others have said, FWD also improves steering (you will never drag a tractor around on the brakes again), and improves safety...especially on steep hills. As for loading.....well I can't imagine loading without those two big front wheels. They make a loader tractor. I guess if a fella has time to dump the bucket and push himself out...over and over, that's his choice. Just an observation, but most people I have met that condemn FWD have never had a tractor so equipped, or never had a good one. Take care. Rod
