Kurt ,when the oil drained out was the oil about #30?, if it is heavier like #90 the clutches will not work,only use #30 engine oil in that transaxle. You said the tabs looked torn up? How many inspection plates are on top of that tranny...one or two? Might be just be out of adjustment, some say it's easy to adjust and others (like me use caution because I dropped the spring down into the gears once and had to take the tranny off the machine and tip it upside down to get it out) There is a guy at the PORTLAND, INDIANA (tri-state gas engine show) this weekend that had two rigs for sale,they are older, wednesday he had two tractors ,( both single cylinder models)and decks, price was $600 for all, he even had an extra frame and tranny. I'm going back up this afternoon
