The serial number should be on an aluminum ID plate mounted on the inside of the left seat mount bracket. I don't know that it holds true for the Super As, but on some early IH tractors the engine and chassis numbers matched. Your engine serial number should be on the front right side of the engine near the top edge of the block on a flat machined area. Stamped into the casting. Disregard the previous paragraph other than for general info. I just checked my Super A parts book and it states that no effort was made for matching the engine and chassis serial numbers on these tractors. K-Mo
