The Cockshutt 570 was never (that I have found) rated by horsepower by Cockshutt. The Nebraska test on a 570 diesel rated it at about 53 h.p. drawbar and 64 h.p. belt--Cockshutt rated it as four to five 14" plows. Some of the advantages are: the tractor is greared very low, so it can work at very low speeds, the rear end is noted for its strength, and it's Hercules engine will run when badly worn. Some disadvantages are it takes forever to get anywhere on the road (about 13 MPH in high gear), some tractor parts are difficult to find, and some engine parts are next to impossible to find.
