I've got a 6 foot Kodiak medium duty with a 90 horse gearbox on the back of my B 414: 36 or so PTO horsepower. 2nd gear for the heavy stuff, 3rd for everything else. I've tried 5th, but it just bumps me too hard. I'm not in that big of a hurry anyway. I have been in some stuff that was really thick and really tall, over the tractor stuff which required 1st gear, but once I got the area open, I went right back to 2nd. Hope this helps.
