7ft hog on IHC 300U

Got an IHC 300 Utility with a nice fresh engine and 3-point, supposedly making 38.16 HP @ 1750 RPM at the PTO. A 6-foot bush hog is just about as wide as the wheels. I"m thinking a 7-footer would be nice to have for skirting along the pasture fences without getting the wheels too close. Mostly mowing pasture grass that is under 6 inches. Do I have sufficient HP to spin it nicely? Is the oddball size going to give me grief when it comes to parts, etc? Would anyone suggest looking at an 8-footer? Looking for that "sweet spot" of time versus quality of cut and not overloading the machine. Thanks in advance. Greg
