i've purchased several items from folks on this site and the ones i've dealt with seemed honest. i've also picked up a few items from ebay, but a lot of stuff there seems overpriced to me. how soon do you want to get this tractor? sometimes deals turn up at local auctions, but you may have to search a while to find an unstyled John Deere D. also, i'm not sure exactly why you want a D (they are nice looking tractors) but they are heavier than a lot of tractors of that era (4000-5000 lbs.). if it's something you want to take to shows you need to consider how you will haul it. if you just plan on using it locally, then that isn't much of a concern. andy b.
