I am a carpenter. Yes, galvanized nails, fasteners, etc. are going to be affected by the newer type of P.T. lumber. Problem is the newer P.T. contains more copper content tnan the older type did. Building code here in Michigan says you must use T.Z. fasteners (triple zinc coated) or equivalent. Even then they don't know how long they will last yet...They really would like to see us use stainless...$$$.Rumor has it theindustry is trying to find another way to treat wood that is less damaging to the fasteners, we'll see..... Bus Driver gave you some good info, if you aren't going to use T.Z. fasteners at least try to sheild them from the lumber........Frank
