DEX-COOL is a great product. It's now a 150K change interval. Of course you can use it in an older (pre '95) vehicle that was not a factory fill. However, you cannot mix DEX-COOL with green coolant. So you must flush the entire cooling system for 20 minutes with a garden hose. This includes the recovery jar. Then fill with DEX-COOL and DISTILLED water. You will hear from some that DEX-COOL caused problems. This is wrong. All so-called DEX-COOL problems are caused by either... 1) Allow a cooling system to leak and not keeping it topped off until the leak can be corrected. 2) Many people who don't know any better top-off the recovery jar with green coolant because they are too ignorant to read the DEX-COOL warning label under the hood. If they are ever mixed, the entire system must be flushed per the instructions above. If you allow others to service your vehicle, you can buy the warning sticker from any GM dealer.
