Look for wiring diagrams by Bob M. The GM one wire alternator is the best one to use. The cheapest one will do the job. My SA was already converted when I bought it. I Overhauled the charging system, rewired everything,(green wires=ignition, red=charging system, blue=lights, etc.) bought a new alternator, took it apart to paint it, re-worked the mounting situation, and it looks like it came from the factory that way!! Don't forget to change the coil. The starter will spin REAL FAST so dont engage it for more than a few seconds. Altenators have a "turn on" speed so you will have to rev up your engine until the needle shows "charging" and the "gen" light goes out, then you can idle back down and it will continue to charge.
