Allan, So far, you are the only one who actually understands my point and my sense of humor. Ethanol used in gasoline was mandated by law in many midwestern states with the promise it would financially benefit corn growers. Like everything else politicans promise, that was a lie. It was a scam to get the "farm vote". They fell for it like sheep off a cliff. We were also lied to when it was promised that ethanol would be good for consumers. Remember the promises that gas prices would come down as the production cost of ethanol is way less then gas? 'Nuff said! We were also told that ethanol would not hurt engines. This was also a lie. As JT correctly pointed out, ethanol destroys many engine parts. Example; in MN, where 10% ethanol is mandated for on-road fuel (some counties), some gas stations are permitted to sell a non-ethanol gasoline "for off-road use only". Due to the damage ethanol caused to tractors, lawn mowers, chain saws, sleds, etc., the public demanded that off-road fuel be available. One gas station I often visit has 16 pumps, only one of which dispenses real (off-road) gasoline. For 7:30AM to about noon, every day, cars and trucks are lined up around the block to wait for that one pump while the others are ignored. Ron
