What if it were more like the biodiesel was a piece of a puzzle including ethanol and solar power (and frankly conservation which nobody really wants to talk about) which would help us on a path to standing on our own two feet without the crutch of either destroying our natural resources or tromping all over the third world destroying their futures in search of the demon oil. The problem is that people are always looking for a silver bullet to cure all their problems rather than using incremental changes to make their lives better. One reason the Japaneese automakers ate Detroit alive in the 70's they were constantly changing little things and making their cars better while Detroit did a full replacement just as they got the bugs worked out of a car. Of course its unfortunate that ALL car manufacturers do the full replacement every couple years now.
