Your post reminds me of a story my father told me about my Great Grandfather on my mother's side of the family. "One Vote Really Does Count." It was back during the years of the poll tax, and my grand father (a party delegate of what party I will not say) was in a small town and it definitely appeared that their party's candidate was not going to win. He was on the balcony of his hotel, and noticed a person below him sweeping the streets. He started talking to the man, and in conversation asked him if he remembered to vote. The man said he wasn't going to vote because he didn't have the money for the poll tax (this was during the Great Depression). My grandfather told the man that he would pay for his poll tax if he would vote for his party's candidate. The man agreed and took the sum of money for the poll tax, and left...my grandfather never seeing him again. Well God and the individual are the only ones who know if he actually voted much less for the candidate that was mentioned. The point of this story is that this party's candidate won the election by one vote. later days mates, Jim
