I guess that it all depends. Are ignition parts (points, condendor, distributor) still available for your tractors? As Ron pointed out, the cost of going out a replacement electronic ignition isn"t probably economically feasible, so long as existing OEM parts are available. Electronic ignition has been proven time and time again since it"s introduction in the mid to late 70"s (at least OEM), but it isn"t cheap if/when it breaks. As for aftermarket electronic ignition, very expensive to purchase, very expensive to fix or replace, certainly if compaired to what you already have installed. Bet it"d be easy to find/scrounge up pieces for your existing ignition setup than to find for a new aftermarket setup in a few years, and certainly cheaper. I guess it depends on you. What do you want? How deep is your pocket book? Going to race that tractor, or just use it around the farm? The choices are yours.
