I wear Redwing lineman's boots. Will kill your feet at first, but once get broke in, are comfortable. I mink oiled the crap out of them, and turned my white socks black for about a year, but i can get into water up to almost my knees, no leaks. The problem with Redwings, all in stock (12") go for $200.00. Those lineman's have to be ordered and go for about $250.00. I often work in coal fields at power plants, and coal will dryout and corrode about anything. This pair has lasted me two years, still going. The last pair was about two years as well, until one day took a step out of a mixture of nearly frozen coal and muck, and one of my soles stayed in the mess, no warning. I've also got a pair of $40.00 Tom McCan "Texas Steer" cheapies that I got from Kmart one weekend when needed a quick pair. They're about a year old, are comfortable, have taken a pretty good beating (including my lab chewing on), and are just starting to pull apart - and I just noticed, made in China (Hmm?, don't care for that).
