Red Wings. Made in the USA. Available in almost any size and width. In fact, I think you can order some styles in two different sizes if your feet are different sizes. The new "Supersole" is just about indestructible. Some things to remember when buying Red Wings: 1. Don't settle for shoes that don't fit. Most dealers don't like to stock narrow or wide widths; you may have to special order. 2. Red Wings are available in a lot of different styles and leathers. The most durable is the oil-tanned top grain leather. Some of the other uppers are not particularly waterproof or durable. 3. Red Wing has a habit of discontinuing styles. If you find a pair of Red Wings that you really like, don't wait until they're completely shot before you replace them; you might find that you can't get them anymore. (This has happened to me more than once.) Another excellent boot is Danner; Danner is now owned by Red Wing and I believe they're still made in the USA.
