Whites are what 90% of the Wildland Fire Fighter wear and they are tough on boots! I wear Daners myself and Nicks are another good boot for fire fighting. I paid allmost 300.00 for my Daners but when you spend 14-16 plus hours a day in them for 14 days straite they better be good boots. Had my Daners for several years might try out a pair of whites when these die but it will be a long time I take good care of my boots and wash & oil them often, no Silicon on mine! Fires are hard on boots. Mark H.
