I went about 300 miles to pick up a tractor a few months back. Before I got there my Chevy started leaking antifreeze. Turned out to be the intake gasket. It did leak externally and bad. There was a nice guy in Alabama where I was heading checked it out and told me it was the intake. Said i would have to wait till Monday. Noplace to stay so I bought some stop leak at his shop. He said the leak was too bad for that to work. I made it all the way home without losing any more coolant but had the intake gasket changed when I got home and now is working great. The mechanic at home said this was common to Chevys and GMC trucks.
