Don't know if all the GM engines have the intake manifold leak problem, but I do know I just had the gaskets replace on my '98 Vortec 454. It had around 70K on it when they went. Dealer wanted $700 to do the job. I've got a pretty good mechanic in a 'Mom & Pop' type shop who did it for around $500. He even had the gaskets and so forth on hand. Says he does at least one a month on either a 350 or 454. He uses Felpro gaskets instead of the GM ones and says he hasn't had one come back yet. Just got rid of my 2000 Jimmy with 75K on it. It had the 4.3 liter in it. The intake gaskets on that thing was about the ONLY thing that hadn't gone wrong with that entire car. Sure gled to get rid of it and hope the replacement Envoy with the 4.2 straight 6 will be a better car. Larry
