Paint Adhesion

I am in the process of refinishing the rear rims on my JD 420. I have had them sandblasted and I picked up a can of primer at an autoparts store. It is lacquer based (red oxide). The John Deere yellow paint is oil based and cleans up with paint thinner. Will I run into adhesion problems putting the oil based paint over the lacquer based primer? Thanks in advance for the advise!!!
