Just looked at a Koehring 166 backhoe loader. Perkins deisel, rops/cab, Standard front bucket, hoe came with 24 and 10 in ch bucket. The owner has had it a while and has a problem with tranny. It only operates in low gear. He has had the reverser and torque converter off to a good shop, and they have checked out fine. Now he is going to look at the transmission, which is supposedly something like a Ford Truck tranny. Anyway he wants $5000 when he fixes the tranny... Anyone think this is a good deal? Or should I shy away from it? It is useable the way it is, just its kinda slow to go any distance with. The 16.9 x 24 rear tires are beat... He is installing new pins and bushings in the backhoe bucket. What would it be worth as is without the repairs? Thanks!
