I've had 20k lbs behind a '95 GMC K2500 Diesel. 'bout 34 miles round trip. Would I do it again? Not on your life! Sure, I got it up to 55mph...took a while. Took damn near as long to slow it back down... Did used to haul corn for a guy with a 1 ton Ford and a G/N dump wagon. I can't remember how much it wieghed, but that powerstroke took longer to get up to speed then the 6.5 in my GMC did, so I know we were over 20K. BUT, that trailer was set up with air/vaccuum brakes (not sure, I just drove it) Had amazing stopping power...
