Bushhogging. Crank tractor with clutch fully depressed and trans in N. Engage PTO lever. Select gear of choice. Slowly release clutch. PTO will almost immediately start the hog a spinnin....tractor has 0 ground speed. Let clutch out about half way and tractor starts moving in direction selected. Iffin you wanna do a corner, stop tractor with clutch only HALF WAY depressed, hog still a spinnin, change gear, let clutch back out and you are backing into corner. Hog never stopped. Beautiful HUH! Post holes. With auger raised, PTO off, position auger over desired location. Depress clutch fully. Engage PTO. Tranny can be in N or any other gear. Select moderate RPM's (1000). Let clutch out a little and PTO starts the auger a spinnin. Lower PTO and start diggin. When it's observed that your hole is not going in straight, select 1 or R gear and let the clutch out to the half way mark slowly and she'll inch in that direction, auger turning the whole time. This way, you can correct for misalignment, and not bend your auger in the process. Nice HUH!. FYI (know you know this but anyway). I like to keep the lift moving up and down to keep the drillins moving out of the hole.....reduces the load on the PTO. Also when I am as deep as I want to go, I stop the PTO, lift the auger out of the hole, pretty fast, bringing most of the dirt with it and "pop" the clutch which throws most of the dirt that was left in the hole, out and away from it. When I say pop, I just mean that at your 1000 rpm's you just let the clutch out a little bit, rapidly (like raise your toe), then push it right back in. Welcome to the world of LIVE PTO. Mark

Product Review: Black Tire Paint - by Staff. I have been fortunate in that two of my tractors have had rear tires that were in great shape when I bought the tractor. My model "H" even had the old style fronts with plenty of tread. My "L" fronts were mismatched Sears Guardsman snow tires, which I promptly tossed. Well, although these tires were in good shape as far as tread was concerned, they looked real sad. All were flat, but new tubes fixed that. In addition to years and years of scuffing and fading, they had paint splattered on
