i had same problem with my allis chalmers c fuel tank looked pretty bad tryed several things,then come across PERMATEX DISOLVER GEL got a tractor supply store ,dumped 12oz bottle in tank and rolled tank around so as to coat inside good then set it at every angle i could, let it set at each angle for about 10 minutes flusher with water till clear then half of box backing soda and water then treated with oil till i get it back on tractor i was amazed at what a good job it did ,for about $5.00 bucks it is worth a try. good luck Ralph
