Depends on what you mean by "more powerful". Higher voltage will make the motor run faster, creating more power, and you can get away with that to some extent, but you take a real chance of burning things up. More current capacity may allow the motor to create more torque, and the battery pack will last longer. More voltage is available via a different battery (for example 9 volt vs. 6 volt). More current is achieve by either a physically larger battery or by adding batteries in parallel. This is at the expense of more weight. Hope this helps.
