Willie, In 4 short lines you managed to say volumns. How we got this way, being the greatest country to ever gract this planet, we have the most convoluted tax system to go along with our greatness. I read somewhere recently that the cost of compliance, meaning tax lawyers, accountants, IRS bureacracy, postal handling, printing of forms, etc. astronomical, and devours a large percentage (not sure of the actual amount) of our GNP. Imagine what we could do with a simplified flat tax or user tax which would force these parasites on our tax system to go out and get a productive job. we could probably pay for the national health care for everyone (not saying I"m for that) that many seem to think we need, and have change left over. And you are right on point when you say that the S corps are the ones who will end up getting shafted. What the proponents of taxing Small and larg business dont realize, (maybe they realize but fail to tell us) is that higher taxes increases the cost of doing business which means higher prices, or lay offs or wage freezes, or a combination of all three, just to offset the increased taxes.
