There's got to be a chat board for RC cars. I used to work with a fellow who had electric RC dragsters. He told me that battery technology had gotten to the point where he could get batteries that would drain to the "knee" of the discharge curve in about three seconds, which was just a little longer than the time it took to go a scale quarter mile. I would recommend a search for a "RC drag racing" website.
