Somebody please help...I am having problems with the charging system on my 430w.The tractor still has the 6 volt positive ground setup....I have a new battery, the generator has been checked by a generator shop,it is in good shape puts out approx 7.2 volts. My problem is that I am unable to get the system to charge...I have somehow managed to zap 2 voltage regulators,I am hooking the wires up as they were on the old regulator.....also I have checked the wiring diagram in a J.D. shop manual,my wiring hook up is the same....the wiring harness on my tractor has not been cut/hacked up as you sometimes find on old tractors now,This problem has me in a blubbering fit .....if anyone has any ideas I would be very thankful for your help....oh by the way,I have both times made sure I polarized the system before starting up the tractor.
