Well, maybe I can take a crack at it then. Gas and diesel are being diverted from refineries in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia and trucked into Iraq. Haliburton is paid $1.70/gal for the fuel by US then it is sold at Iraqi gas stations for 5 cents/gal. This is in addition to the tremendous needs for fuel for our military in Iraq. During WWII rationing and price controls were used to ensure the military had enough fuel and domestic national interests supplied also. Today price will do the rationing and fuel prices will continue to rise until demand abates and a market driven rationing occurs. When Iraq begins to export significant quantities of oil and furnish their own needs, the Saudi and Kuwaiti oil shipments to the US will increase, hopefully stabilizing prices. This info was on a recent yahoo news link. I should not have to explain the connection to the GWB Cheney administration.
